After months of feverish anticipation, the wait is finally over after Emirates officially unveiled its brand new (and first ever) Airbus A350.

To perhaps nobody’s surprise, Emirates is standardising on the same “next generation” business class as its Boeing 777 refit – a seat which the airline now appears to be re-branding as the ‘S Lounge’, a design “inspired by the Mercedes S Class for an exceptional travel experience.”

Emirates' A350 will commence commercial service on January 3 on the Dubai (DXB) – Edinburgh (EDI) route. The aircraft is the first of 65 A350-900XWBs ordered by the Dubai-based carrier and the first new type to join Emirates’ fleet since 2008.

Emirates A350-900 will feature three spacious and comfortable cabin classes, accommodating 312 passengers (32 business, 21 premium economy and 259 spacious economy class seats).
