After a tough 2-0 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night at TD Garden, the Boston Bruins are right back on the ice on Wednesday to face off against the New York Islanders. The Bruins will look to secure a win on the road from here. For this contest against the Islanders, the Bruins are rolling with Joonas Korpisalo as their starting goalie.

On Tuesday, the Bruins did everything right except put the puck in the net in a 2-0 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. On Wednesday on Long Island, the B’s had all sorts of puck management issues, but they came away with a 6-3 win over the New York Islanders at UBS Arena.

But Nelson tied the game again. In the last minute of the second period, the Bruins missed two chances to clear the puck out of the zone and the Islanders took advantage as Nelson beat Joonas Korpisalo with 8 seconds left in the period to make it 3-3 going into period No. 3.

Pavel Zacha scored a pair of third-period goals to give the Bruins a 6-3 win over the Islanders at UBS Arena Wednesday night. Boston had squandered leads of 2-0 and 3-2 but responded with a strong final 20 minutes on the second night of back-to-back games to improve to 11-10-3 and 3-1 since Joe Sacco took over bench duties just over a week ago.

For teams outside of the NHL playoff picture, American Thanksgiving is about the time to begin worrying about the standings.
