The Maharashtra Election results have come as a big shock for Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray. The result was "unexpected" for both Mahayuti and the Maha Vikas Aghadi. However, NCP-SP winning just 10 seats and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena barely managing to scrape 20 seats is a big worrying sign for the parties.

Maharashtra Assembly will not have a Leader of Opposition. No opposition party secured the minimum 29 seats required for the position. The Mahayuti alliance won a landslide victory with 230 seats. BJP emerged as the single largest party with 132 seats.
